Florida's Fossils: A Virtual Museum Adventure In-Person
Travel back in time with a live virtual tour of the Walter Schmidt Museum! During this 30–45 minute program, museum educators will introduce kids to Florida’s amazing geological history, the kinds of fossils that can be found in our state, and the big question: Why don’t we find dinosaur fossils in Florida? Our guide will also show real specimens from the museum’s collection and explain how scientists learn from them.
After the virtual tour, the adventure continues in our Storytime Room mini-museum! Kids can explore real fossils, check out replica dinosaur bones and teeth, create a craft, and enjoy hands-on discovery stations.
A fun and interactive program for young explorers who love rocks, fossils, and prehistoric creatures!
