Augusta Savage Community Fine Arts Program: In-Person
In cooperation with the Friends of the Augusta Savage Arts & Community Center, the Green Cove Springs Branch Library is proud to offer a fine arts workshop series intended to bring local youth and their families a greater awareness of and hands-on experience with visual arts inspired by the legacy of Augusta Fells Savage.
At this month's session, we will be celebrating Kodomo no hi or Children's Day, a Japanese national holiday celebrated each year on May 5. Children will create and assemble a carp kite inspired by the traditional carp-shaped windsocks flown by Japanese families on that special day. Emphasis will include mixed media, line, shape, form, pattern, color, and repetition.
Recommended for ages 6-11. Class space is limited.
